Forget pickles. Move over, foot rubs. Shopping and dining are what the heavily pregnant star of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” is craving these days. And she is finding them all in Somerville, N.J.
According to The Star-Ledger, mother-of-three (soon to be four) Teresa “FABULOUS!” Giudice was spotted this week doing both in the quaint Somerset County town. And while Bravo has not yet confirmed that there will be a second season of its hit reality show (seriously, how could there not?), there evidently were indications that Teresa’s moves were being documented on film.
I assume it wasn’t for the sake of her unborn child, either. “Look honey, here’s where Mommy went shopping just days before your birth!”
But I digress. The Ledger reports that Teresa had her father (who was celebrating his birthday) in tow, and the two had lunch at Alfonso’s Family Trattoria & Gourmet Pizza before shopping for baby furniture at Main St. Kidz. Anthony Ianniello, owner of Alfonso’s, said Teresa was wearing a long green dress with a denim jacket. She ordered an appetizer, spinach salad and fried zeppoles stuffed with cannoli cream and chocolate, he said.
And while Teresa was eyeing up various cribs and bedding, she didn’t commit to anything, said Main St. Kidz manager CeCe Mitrani.
“She wants to wait and see if she has a boy or a girl,” she told the Ledger, adding that cribs start at $500 and bedding at $2,000.
You can get a pretty good idea of the quality of furniture Main St. Kidz has to offer by checking out these pictures. The shop apparently used to be based in nearby Bridgewater before moving to its new location a few months ago.
And as we all know, dropping large amounts of money on furniture is no problem for Teresa. In fact, it appears to be a passion. In the premiere episode of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” she was famously shown tossing out thousands of dollars in cash for furniture at another store not too far from Somerville – Unique Furniture in Green Brook. And interestingly enough, Unique Furniture has a showroom, Urban Living, which also just happens to be located on Main Street in… Somerville!
So, what is it about Somerset County furniture stores that Teresa loves so much?
