You’re a wonder, Wonder Woman

As a little kid in the ’70s, I was a big fan of the television series “Wonder Woman” starring gorgeous Lynda Carter.

Then again, who wasn’t?

She was the coolest superhero ever.  She piloted that awesome invisible plane, she could make men tell the truth by tying them up with her lasso, and she didn’t need a phone booth to complete her transformation from alter ego Diana Prince.

Oh, and did I mention she got to hang around dreamy Lyle Waggoner all day?

She may have hung up her tiara and bracelets, but Lynda Carter still brings the bling./Credt State Theatre

The show may have ended over 30 years ago (gasp!), but Lynda has still got that undefinable “it.” And luckily for us Jerseyans, she’s bringing “it” to New Brunswick next week.

You got that right: Lynda Carter – aka Wonder Woman – is coming to town! A seasoned stage performer, Lynda will star in “That’s Entertainment! A Las Vegas Experience” on Saturday, May 22, at the State Theatre.

The event, which serves as the theater’s 22nd Annual Benefit Gala, begins at 5 p.m. and Lynda’s singing and dancing performance begins at 6 p.m. The Vegas-themed show also features performances by magician Elliot Zimet, Cirque du Soleil-type aerial acts, ballroom dancers and stand-up by the Stress Factory’s ownVinnie Brand.

Tickets, which range from $20 to $50, are available online via the theater’s site or by calling 732.246.7469.
