Forget about country boys – thank God for Jersey boys!

That’s what I’m sure millions of women will say when this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly hits the stands and they feast their eyes on Paul Wesley, star of The CW hit series “The Vampire Diaries.” Paul, who was born in New Brunswick and raised in Marlboro, graces the magazine with (depending on which one of three covers you pick) costars Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder. Paul’s character, Stefan Salvatore, the show’s resident “good” vampire, went rogue this season while his brother, Damon (Somerhalder), has taken over the hero vampire role. Don’t expect it to last.

Paul and Mira Sorvino

The Sorvino family may soon become personas non grata in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. The county, which ponied up a $500,000 taxpayer investment to patriarch actor Paul Sorvino for an independent film back in 2006, is still wondering when it’s going to see the finished product, reports The New York Daily News. The film in question – “The Trouble with Cali” – stars Sorvino and two of his children, Oscar winner Mira and her brother Michael, all of whom once lived in Tenafly. Paul Sorvino, who also directed the film, claims Lackawanna has already benefited financially, pointing out that he spent $700,000, employed “hundreds of people,” and generated great public relations while making the movie. “If that isn’t a good thing, I don’t know what to say to you,” Sorvino told the paper. Sorvino, for his part, plans to screen the film on Tuesday, February 21… in Sedona, Arizona.

Kelly Ripa: The world is her oyster.

Since losing mainstay Regis Philbin, she’s been hosting her morning gabfest solo (with the assistance of assorted guest cohosts), but that’s nothing compared to the coup Voorhees’ Kelly Ripa has scored: an Academy Awards special slated to air the morning after the Oscars are handed out.  The Hollywood Reporter reveals Kelly will interview winners and presenters on “Live! With Kelly’s After Oscar Show” special, which will broadcast live from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood at 9 a.m. Monday, February 27. The special, which will also feature a recap of the fashions seen at the awards, is part of a prize package for three winners of the Slim-Fast “Live’s Hollywood Red Carpet Getaway” contest.
