It’s already Thursday, and it’s time for another edition of Only in Jersey!

If it’s filming in Jersey, takes place in Jersey, or is about celebs from Jersey, you will find it here.

Hugh Laurie and the "House" cast: Say farewell./Photo credit Fox

Fox has pulled the plug on its hugely popular series “House.” The show, currently in its eighth season, takes place at the fictitious Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. According to Entertainment Weekly, the series will wrap up the end of this season. The mag also reports that star Hugh Laurie said in November that he planned on retiring from television acting once the show ended. Meanwhile, the real Princeton-based hospital is flourishing: it is scheduled to move to a new, state of the art facility in May and officially be renamed University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. Who says life doesn’t (at least partly) imitate art?

2010 SAGs: Another weekend, another red carpet

Though I’m no fan of winter, there’s one good thing about this season: plenty of award shows and fashion galore.

This weekend was no exception, and I enjoyed watching what everyone was wearing at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards. While I loved fewer gowns than last week’s Golden Globes, several stars proved they are on a roll when it comes to picking the perfect ensemble.

The "wow" factor of Kate Hudson's dress doesn't fully hit you until she turns around...

Once again, Kate Hudson tops my best-dressed list. As with the Globes, Kate chose white. But while the Emilio Pucci dress exudes modesty head-on, it’s a whole other story when Kate turns around.

Can you say “va-va-va-voom”? Stunning.

Actresses demonstrated at the SAGs that they’re not afraid of color – and I couldn’t be more happy about that. Take Lea Michele, for example. The “Glee” star impressed me with her Golden Globes gown last week, and with this choice she’s proven that she has a flair for selecting beautiful, flattering gowns.

Lea Michele totally rocked this jade Catherine Malandrino gown.

I was also bowled over by Jenna Fischer’s dress. I don’t recall seeing “The Office” star at last week’s Globes (maybe because they didn’t show her, or maybe because her gown wasn’t memorable), but this week she really caught my eye – and in the best possible way.

I absolutely adored Jenna Fischer's gown. Is that a cluster of amethysts on the bodice?

“Modern Family’s” Sofia Vergara is now two for two in my book. The curvy actress once again chose a gown by Carolina Herrera, and it suited her well.

E!'s "Fashion Police" weren't ga-ga over Sofia Vergara's dress, but I liked it a lot.

Ditto Helen Mirren. Seriously, is it possible for this woman to look bad?

Helen Mirren always manages to look classy - and sassy.

Up next: The Grammys on Sunday. Can’t wait!

Sandra Bullock: “My work got better when I met” Jesse

This year’s Golden Globes were full of wonderful, heartfelt speeches – and one of the sweetest of all came from Sandra Bullock, who thanked her husband, Jesse James, for his love and support when she accepted the award for best performance by an actress in a motion picture (drama) for “The Blind Side.”

“To my husband –  There’s no surprise that my work got better when I met you,” Sandra said. “Because I never knew what it felt like for someone to have my back. So thank you.”

Sandra and Jesse, who earned the respect of millions (and probably stole more than a few hearts) during his tenure on “The Celebrity Apprentice” last year, married in 2005.

Sookie and Bill: That’s Fangtastic!

So I read a while ago that “True Blood” co-stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer are dating.

Geek fan that I am, that news makes me extremely happy. And judging by their smiles in the above photo, it makes them happy, too.

Stephen told TV Guide that he fell for her during auditions.

“It was very important to me that the cast and crew we were working with didn’t feel it was fickle, and didn’t feel it could possibly potentially encroach on their lives,” he explains. “… We didn’t want to take anything away from the show. The show is the star, not the two people having a relationship.”

The couple  is quite exotic – and no, neither of them are vampire, shapeshifter, werewolf, maenad or witch: Stephen is British; Oscar winner Anna is Canadian by birth but was raised in New Zealand. Stephen also has two children from a previous relationship.

Stephen is at least 10 years older than Anna. By comparison, his character, the vampire Bill Compton, is well over 100 years older than Anna’s character, Sookie Stackhouse. I guess age is relative…

“We are together,” says Stephen. “We’re very, very happy. She’s the best.”

Here’s Stephen’s hilarious (and charming) red carpet interview from this year’s Golden Globes (he talks about how he prepares for his nude scenes!):
