Only in Jersey: 2/3/12

Welcome to the fourth edition of Only in Jersey!

If it’s filming in Jersey, takes place in Jersey, or is about celebs from Jersey, you will find it here.

Expedia pitchman Michael Ian Black has found the humor in house hunting. The Hillsborough native has live-tweeted twice (most recently Tuesday night) during seemingly random reruns of the HGTV reality show “House Hunters International.” Joining him in exchanging witticisms is fellow funnyman (and “Daily Show with Jon Stewart” contributor) John Hodgman. Among Michael’s observations: “John, I prefer house #1. Second choice is #3. This means they will pick #2” and “Thank you, John. Once again, we have shown people that living overseas is always a tragic mistake.” If you’re interested in reading more of Michael’s “House Hunters International”-related tweets, check him out on Twitter. He is also the author of several books, including the upcoming “You’re Not Doing It Right: Tales of Marriage, Sex, Death, and Other Humiliations.”

Unlike all of my posts, which I try to make as articulate and well-thought-out as possible (I think), I’m writing this one totally on the fly.

Imagine walking along the beach, minding your own business and stumbling across THIS. {thud}/Photo by Planet Green

Why? Because I can’t go another second without reassurance that I’m not the only one out in Internetlandia (which is somewhere near “Portlandia”) who is drooling uncontrollably over this:

Be. Still. My. Beating. Heart.

Ryan Buell will never forget the paranormal investigation that freaked him out the most.

The star of A&E’s “Paranormal State” and the founder/director of Penn State University’s Paranormal Research Society said the case that most got to him involved a renovated townhouse in Pennsylvania. The home was once the site of drug-dealing, prostitution and other assorted unsavory activities, possibly including sacrifices. The current owner had purchased it for a song via foreclosure, and her adult son and his fiancée were living there.

Target gets “Lost”

Confession: I am a dedicated Target shopper.

If only I had one of these every time I went shopping.

Seriously, I go there to pick up one or two things and wind up with a carriage full of stuff. It’s a problem.

So I got a real thrill Sunday night when – during the “Lost” finale – Target aired several commercials spoofing the much-beloved series.

“Lost”: Stick a fork in me, I’m done

Well, “Lost” is definitely over and done with. Too bad the ending wasn’t as enjoyable to watch as this:

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Jeff freakin’ Probst!!! How awesome is that?

Anyway, I digress. I guess I’m trying to postpone expressing my feelings about the finale, which not surprisingly is polarizing “Lost” fans into separate camps: those who loved it versus those who thought it was a cop-out. But for now – maybe some distance will help – I’m erring on the “not-too-satisfied” side of things.
