Jesse James to ex-wife: Leave Sandra out of this

As far as I’m concerned, Jesse James is more of a real man than a “Dead Man.”

The star of Spike’s “Jesse James is a Dead Man” is apparently whopping mad that his ex-wife, just-released-from-prison former porn star Janine Lindemulder, went on “Good Morning America” this week and accused Jesse’s wife, Sandra Bullock, of trying to take her 5-year-old daughter, Sunny, away from her.

Jesse, Sandra and Janine are currently locked in what’s becoming an ugly custody battle for the little girl, who has lived with Jesse and Sandra for much of this year while Janine was serving her sentence for tax evasion.

“What would give her the right to take away my daughter?” Janine, 40, asked “GMA.” “You know, this is my daughter. I am the best mother I can be.”

According to a statement given to People by Jesse’s attorney, Jesse, also 40, is annoyed that Janine keeps dragging Sandra’s name into this mess.

“Sandra Bullock is not a party to this litigation,” Jesse’s lawyer, Marilyn Slifman (a woman – clever man), told People. “Mr. James’s (sic) sole concern is for the safety, welfare and best interests of his daughter. The proper forum to resolve this case is in the courtroom.”

But apparently Janine believes Sandra, 45, is the impetus behind this push to get full custody of Sunny.

“…I do believe the reason Sandra is so interested in Sunny… she (thinks she) is saving Sunny from me, from her own mother… That’s what I believe,” she told “GMA.”

Sandra, on the other hand, has written the court saying, “I am aware that Janine has claimed many times that my desire to have (Sunny) was because I could not have children of my own. That couldn’t be farther from the truth.”

Janine, for her part, says, “I didn’t say that.”

Sandra goes on to tell the court, “I know the term ‘stepmother’ carries many connotations, one of them being ‘glorified babysitter.’ My commitment and responsibility to [the girl] … goes beyond that.”

“GMA” quotes an anonymous source close to Janine as saying that Janine was “not in favor of the divorce when Jesse left (while she was pregnant with Sunny). Janine had custody of her daughter. Jesse didn’t see his daughter for the first two years of her life except for around the time when she was born. It was only after he got involved with Sandra Bullock that he decided he wanted to have a relationship with his daughter.”

Complicating things even further for Janine is that she recently married a convicted felon and Jesse, rightly so, is concerned about Sunny’s exposure to the man. As a result, the judge in the case amended the visitation order to specify that Janine’s husband must stay away from Sunny.

Whatever the outcome of the case, I hope Sunny winds up in the care of the best possible parents. To read Parade Magazine’s interview with Sandra – in which she mentions Sunny – go here.

Sandra Bullock: Jesse James is a pleasant surprise

Prior to meeting hunky hubby Jesse James, Sandra Bullock confesses to having a rather unflattering image of him in her mind.

Sandra Bullock Glamour

“I had an image of an obese guy with a handlebar mustache,” she says of the former “Monster Garage” host (and current “Jesse James is a Dead Man” star and “Celebrity Apprentice” alum) in an interview in the July issue of Glamour.

“I think most of us are raised with preconceived notions of the choices we’re supposed to make,” Sandra tells Glamour. “We waste so much time making decisions based on someone else’s idea of our happiness—what will make you a good citizen or a good wife or daughter or actress. Nobody says, ‘Just be happy—go be a cobbler or go live with goats.'”

Sandra, 44, met Jesse when she took her godson to visit his company, West Coast Choppers. The couple will celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary in July. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar last month, Sandra spoke of how it took her a while to get used to Jesse’s gallant and gentlemanly ways.

Look at the way she looks at him. Is that love or what?

Look at the way she looks at him. Is that love or what?

“I’ve had to learn a hard lesson in that I’m not allowed to open car doors anymore,” Sandra told Harper’s Bazaar. “It was so hard for me to allow someone to take care of me. It’s not because I can’t take care of myself. But Jesse was like, ‘Just let me do this.'”

Jesse, 40, has three children from past relationships: Chandler, 14, Jesse Jr., 11, and Sunny, 5. Sandra and Jesse are currently caring for Sunny because her mother, porn actress Janine Lindemulder, is serving time in jail for tax evasion.

Alas, the rest of the Glamour interview – which serves as promotion for Sandra’s new movie, “The Proposal” – shies away from the topic of Jesse. But you can read the full interview here.

Meanwhile, Jesse’s charm isn’t lost on older women, either. People reports that Sandra’s “Proposal” co-star, Betty White, found him just as charming.

“Every time he came around, it was like flirt-fest,” Sandra says of the rapport between Jesse and Betty.

“Jesse came to see (Sandra) a couple of times (on set),” Betty tells People.” He’s interesting. I don’t think there is a square quarter inch on him that isn’t tattooed. And I love it.”

Betty recalls, “Finally somebody asked Sandra, ‘Do the tattoos ever bother you?’ She said, ‘No, no. At night when I can’t sleep, I just roll over and read him.'”

Betty shares a kinship with Sandra and Jesse: They are all pet lovers, and the couple apparently has two dogs with missing legs.

“They also had three little Chihuahuas, one with three legs and one with two legs,” Betty explains. “Come to find out it was Jesse, Mr. Macho Motorcycle Tattoo Man, who keeps bringing them home. (Sandra) said, ‘Jesse, we cannot have another handicapped dog.’ (He said), ‘Oh, yes we can.’ (He’s) a big softie.”

Jesse James speaks

I heard Jesse James – who most recently starred in “The Celebrity Apprentice” on NBC – stopped by The Howard Stern Show on Sirius Radio this week.

Jesse’s appearance was to promote his new Spike show, “Jesse James is a Dead Man” (which premieres at 10 p.m. May 31), but he was also apparently thrilled to meet the King of All Media.

“I feel like I’ve finally made it,” he told Howard. “I’ve done ’60 Minutes’ and everything else, but being here…”

Naturally, Howard’s two favorite subjects for the biker were the women in his life, both past and present: ex-wife and porn star Janine Lindemulder and current wife and famous actress Sandra Bullock.

Of his marriage to Janine (who is currently serving time in jail for tax evasion and with whom he has a young daughter, Sunny), Jesse said, “Sometimes things aren’t what they seem… I more got into that relationship for everybody else. So guys like you would think I was cool.”

When Howard asked Jesse if he would recommend marrying a porn star to other guys, Jesse said, “Just buy the DVD.”

As for his relationship with Sandra, Jesse said, “I’ve always been honest with her right from the start. I was like, ‘Hey, I dated a porn star’ and ‘Hey, we’re having a kid.’ At several points, I expected her to turn around and run.”

Jesse explained that the pair met when she brought her godson to tour the set of his show, “Monster Garage.”

“I kind of automatically figured she was a b*tch,” he admitted. “But she’s smart and looks you in the eye when she talks to you… so I contacted her assistant and said, ‘Hey, I wanna ask her out.’ So I asked her out and she said no.”

To those of you who saw Jesse in action on “Celebrity Apprentice” it’s not a surprise that he didn’t give up.

“We kinda emailed back and forth for a couple months… it was the first relationship I’d ever been in that was (preceded) by a courtship.”

Jesse said he didn’t get to kiss Sandra until the second date.

“And she kissed me,” he told Howard. “Caught me off guard, too.”

It was a few months before they finally sealed the deal and slept together. But apparently, it was worth it: “It was awesome,” he confirmed.

Winning the trust of Sandra’s friends was a lot more difficult.

“All her friends. 100 percent,” he said. “They were like, ‘Absolutely no way.'”

Howard asked him if he ever thought about Sandra’s past Hollywood boyfriends (who include Matthew McConaughey and Ryan Gosling) but Jesse laughed it off.

“None of those dudes can weld,”  he said.

And in an interview with the New York Daily News, Jesse revealed that one of the reasons he wanted to do “Celebrity Apprentice” was to meet – and apologize to – Olympic figure skater Scott Hamilton.

It turns out a teenage Jesse stole Scott’s 1985 Porsche Targe from outside the skater’s San Diego apartment. Although Jesse was never caught for the deed, it’s a burden he’s apparently carried around with him.

“I always felt bad about it,” he told the Daily News. “I figured I’d never have a chance to say anything to him.”

Until the night Scott was fired and Jesse followed him out of  Trump Tower.

“He looked at me,” Scott said. “I could tell he was concerned. He said, ‘I never made it right with you.’ Once I knew the whole story, I thought it was kind of funny to learn 20 years later that Jesse James stole my car and stripped it.”

“I was sorry,” Jesse confessed. “It was like a huge monkey off my back.”

No, no, no! Jesse James belongs in “Celebrity Apprentice’s” final two!

How disappointing was it tonight when Donald Trump fired Jesse James on “Celebrity Apprentice”?

I'll take another helping of Jesse, please.

I'll take another helping of Jesse, please.

Honestly, I think Jesse is more qualified to compete in the final task than Joan Rivers. But naturally, it all boils down to ratings. And evidently NBC thinks more people will tune in to watch the cat fight between Joan and shrewd poker player Annie Duke than if the final two were Jesse and Annie.

I’m not so sure, though. Judging by the amount of traffic Jesse has attracted on this blog, I would say that’s not at all the case. I’m guessing that a lot of women – myself included – find Jesse smart, funny, attractive and likable. He’s also extremely mysterious. The guy has tons of tats and has an insane need for speed. He’s also been married to a porn actress. (Yup. More on that in a future post.) Yet on “Celebrity Apprentice” he comes across as reserved and quiet.  (At least on this show. His upcoming Spike series, “Jesse James is a Dead Man,” will probably be a different story.)

Clearly, this guy is a study in contrasts. And that’s what is so fascinating about him. He draws you in and makes you want to learn more. I totally understand what Sandra Bullock sees in him.

And really, Trump’s reasons for firing Jesse were pretty lame. Sure, Jesse’s a quiet dude who keeps his hand close to his vest. He also never used his wife’s notoriety for his own personal gain. Then again, he didn’t use it to for the collective gain of his team, either. But was that reason enough to fire him?

I don’t think so. Bring Jesse back!

Is Jesse James good in bed?

Is Jesse James good in bed?

Your guess – or fantasy, more likely – is as good as mine, but apparently Donald Trump thinks he is.

Sunday night’s episode of “The Celebrity Apprentice” featured an as usual entertaining boardroom in which Jesse – as the project manager for the otherwise all-female team Athena – declared victory over the sad remains of what was once the great KOTU. (Kings of the Universe, indeed!) Trump seemed a little surprised at how mild-mannered Jesse could snag one of the most beautiful actresses in the world, Sandra Bullock.

“You must be good in bed,” Trump concluded. Even Jesse, who usually sits stone-faced throughout the boardroom proceedings, had to laugh at that one.

Regardless of whether or not Jesse winds up winning “Celebrity Apprentice” (he’s definitely got my vote), this won’t be the last you see of him. Oh, no. Spike is getting in on the Jesse love in a big way: “Jesse James is a Dead Man,” a new series in which Sandra’s hot hubby does all sorts of crazy stunts, premieres at 10 p.m. Sunday, May 31. Here’s a sneak peek:

This may be the first time I actually tune in to Spike, like, on purpose.
