Money doesn’t buy happiness – or the perfect wedding.

"My Fair Wedding" star David Tutera was equally informative and entertaining at a speaking engagement in Somerset, NJ, this week.

That was just one nugget of wisdom event planner, author and “My Fair Wedding” star David Tutera shared with a large crowd of fans, brides and wedding planners at a talk/book signing at The Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset, NJ, this week.

“It’s the heart you put into it and the details you execute,” David said, that make a wedding truly unique and unforgettable.

Nigel Barker live = Priceless

How much would you pay to be photographed by this man?

Don't hate me because I'm beautiful... OR because I have the most gorgeously clipped English accent.

A $100 asking price wasn’t enough to dissuade a long line of lucky ladies (and men!) from the privilege of having “America’s Next Top Model” judge, *noted fashion photographer* Nigel Barker, step behind the camera and snap away during Fashion’s Night Out earlier this month in New York City.

“Whatever with Alexis & Jennifer”: My 15 seconds of fame

Becoming famous was the last thing I expected when I attended a taping of the new Hallmark Channel talk show, “Whatever with Alexis & Jennifer.”

"Whatever with Alexis & Jennifer" is a new Hallmark Channel talk show hosted by Jennifer Koppelman Hutt, left, and Alexis Stuart.

Well, OK, so maybe famous isn’t exactly the appropriate word to describe what happened to me on Sept. 23 in New York City. But when your only other exposure on television is an appearance at your township’s council meeting in which you complain about your mean condo board, this is a friggin’ H-U-G-E deal!

I’m not just talking about being a TV audience member. Oh, no! If that was the case, then I’d definitely be excited. But I’m super-duper, ridiculously over-the-moon thrilled because I was selected to ask the hosts a question during a Q&A segment!!!!! Even better, I wasn’t edited out of the segment – it actually aired on Sept. 24th!!!!!!!!!

Greg Giraldo: A (not so) funny thing happened on the way to the comedy club

I don’t go to Stress Factory Comedy Club very often, and when I do it’s usually to see a big star.

In the past, I’ve been lucky enough to have seen Chris Rock AND Wanda Sykes try out new material on Central Jersey audiences. And last night I was there again, this time to see one of Comedy Central’s favorite roasters, Greg Giraldo.

Except that never happened. Following opener Melvin George, Stress Factory owner/comedian Vinnie Brand came on stage. But instead of introducing the headliner, he announced that Greg had been taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (also in New Brunswick). That was it; no other information was provided.

Passion for fashion: Lloyd Boston proves style and New Jersey go hand-in-hand

If the only thing you know about New Jersey is what you see on television – aka “Jerseylicious,” “Jersey Couture,” “Jersey Shore” and “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” – you may be under the false impression that everyone in the Garden State wears bedazzled animal prints 24/7.

That’s where you’d be wrong – and Lloyd Boston is proof of that. The New Brunswick native is a fashion style expert with four books and a TV show, “Closet Cases,” under his belt. His latest tome, “The Style Checklist: The Ultimate Wardrobe Essentials For You,” dropped earlier this month. A regular contributor to the “Today” show, Lloyd appeared on the morning program twice last week alone to talk fashion. He will add to his list of TV appearances when he drops by “The Wendy Williams Show” on Sept. 15 (check local listings) and  “The Martha Stewart Show” on Hallmark Channel at 10 a.m. Sept. 22.

Lloyd also took part in New York City’s Fashion’s Night Out on Friday, which is where I met up with him. As spokesman for Jones New York, Lloyd dazzled Lord & Taylor shoppers with a fashion show and commentary, and later offered tips – as well as photos and autographs – to his admirers.
